Will Industrial Automation (Controls Engineering) positions in the future be remote work?

I’ve worked and built remote teams for the last 5 years in this space.
Much of the work can be done with offsite development and then deploy onsite when needed.

When we look to leverage remote work, Industry 4.0, and Digital Transformation – we can bring world class teams to any facility in the world.

We can solve problems faster.

For less money.

With top talent.

Plus it allows for people to recruit better talent in an ever more competitive market place.

Do I think everyone can work remotely?

No.

We still need boots on the ground – but remote = flexibility for everyone.

What say you?
